This dramatic sky makes me feel a bit like my friend Marcus Bell, an Australian photographer known for his expansive portraits of couples set against beautiful natural backdrops. It’s not often we get this kind of opportunity here locally and I’m thankful we were able to take advantage of it for Anastasia & Brian on their wedding day. This image was made at Belmont Country Club near Leesburg, Va.

Image of the Day - Dramatic Sky

I wanted to share this fun picture from a recent wedding. It shows sisters Kristin (L) and Sara (R) sharing some quality time before Kristan’s wedding. There are 3 sisters in the family – Sara, Charity and Kristen – and we had the honor of photographing all three weddings! I wish there were more girls in this family. They are loads of fun and we loved working with them. Maybe there is still hope when their brother gets married…

Mohaimen Kazi - This is a great picture.

This is an image from a very small wedding I did recently on a farm near Little Washington. The wedding was on a Thursday night, which is unusual, but timed perfectly to allow for beautiful sunset images in the foothills of the Shenandoah Mountains.

A few images from a recent evening portrait session I did with Kristen & Mitchell. They were engaged here in DC but are getting married in Chicago. They wanted an evening portrait session in their wedding clothes at the place they were engaged. It was cold and the weather wasn’t cooperating but Kristin was a real trooper and determined to get the session done!

The first image is now a 24×30 print hanging in their home.

From a recent engagement session with Jessica & Stephen. Jessica grew up in my neighborhood!
