Washingtonian magazine, locally known in the DC area as the publisher of one of the most complete and comprehensive wedding guides available, is breaking with tradition this year. Instead of the usual wedding guide printed inside the January issue of Washingtonian, they are producing a completely separate, stand-alone magazine appropriately titled “Washingtonian Bride & Groom”. The new magazine will be available December 15.
What makes the Washingtonian Wedding Guide exceptionally unique and valuable is that they publish a very exclusive listing of recommended wedding vendors. The editorial staff conducts a rigorous vetting and review process of all the photographers, videographers, planners, florists caterers, venues, etc. that are included in this list. Since there is an actual approval process, it’s not possible for a vendor to simply buy their way in by purchasing advertising space. It’s a great honor to be included and listed alongside some of the best companies in the DC wedding industry.
This independent and unbiased third party approval process is a powerful tool for couples looking for vendors to work with in planning their wedding.
I have been fortunate to be a part of this list since 2004 and it was nice to once again get official notification today that I will be included for 2009 also!
