Named Washington's Top Rated Wedding Photojournalist by Washingtonian Bride & Groom Magazine 2009

"The only thing we needed to know about Greg was that the largest news organization in the world trusted him to cover the President of the United States. If he can handle that pressure, he can certainly handle our wedding."  - Tim McCaughan & Kristan Biggars

Catching up – Elegant New Year’s Eve Wedding

Ari + Alex
12-31-05

I’m trying to catch up on all my weddings for 2006 and get them all BLOGGED! I thought I would actually start the ‘06 weddings with the last one from ‘05. Hey, it ran into 2006 so that counts, right?

Ari and Alex’s wedding was one of the most elegant weddings I photographed in all of 2005. Ari did a great job coordinating the colors, hairstyles and clothing choices to set just the right mood for a fabulous winter wedding. The ceremony and reception were held at Mellon Auditorium, which is now one of my favorite venues. You’ll see why shortly! Mellon is located at 13th and Constitution across from the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History and right behind the Reagan Building. Most people don’t even know it’s there. Ari and Alex got ready at the nearby Mandarin Oriental Hotel.

Beautiful classic hairstyle!

Dramatic processional at Mellon:

Candlelight ceremony with blue accent lights on the walls and columns:

This was a Jewish ceremony and the couple had one of the coolest Hupas I’ve ever seen. It looked like blue icicles hanging from the branches of a tree.

Recessional looking back into the auditorium.

The reception setup at Mellon:

Father – Daughter Dance

What would a New Year’s Eve wedding be without funny hats and glasses???

Fun dancing.

Radioactive headbands!

Countdown to Midnight and 2006!

Practicing First Dance

A little romance…

Topping the night off with a nice Washington Monument moment!
