Kelly + Andy

Kelly + Andy
October 2, 2004

This is an old 2004 wedding but we completed their order for a beautiful GraphiStudio Coffee Table album a couple of months ago and wanted to share some of the images.

Kelly and Andy got married at the DoubleTree Hotel in Rockville, Md. At first glance the DoubleTree isn’t the kind of place you would expect great images from. One thing I always tell people is that it doesn’t take phenomenal scenery to get great wedding pictures. All you really need is a little passion, energy and emotion. I have always been more impressed by photographers that can go into the local baptist church and hotel ballroom each week and make great pictures. When you’re shooting at the beach or a vineyard every weekend great pictures just fall on your head. It’s far more challenging to shoot in less than ideal venues and still make beautiful images.

Getting ready.

Attractive couple.

Andy waits to see Kelly in her dress for the first time.

Intimate first dance.

A couple of future clients.

Sarah + Ryan

Sarah + Ryan
March 19, 2005
Evermay, Georgetown

In an effort to get some content going on the blog I thought I would start posting some images from wedding prints and albums that I’m working on.

I recently finished the album prints for Sarah & Ryan’s album. This was one of my favorite weddings from 2005. The wedding was at Evermay in Georgetown and I truly loved shooting there. Sarah & Ryan are very passionate people. Not just passionate about each other, but passionate about their families and friends as well. Passionate people make my job easy. There were so many nice pictures from this wedding it was hard to choose just a few, but I tried:

Sarah and Ryan saw each other before the wedding. Ryan was visibly moved when he saw Sarah in her wedding dress for the first time.

Beautiful portrait

Sarah greeting her father just before walking down the aisle.

Making eye contact as Sarah circles Ryan as part of their Jewish ceremony.

The mansion at Evermay make a great backdrop from the garden.

Sarah’s step-dad enjoyed the Hora.

A nice romantic midnight stroll from Evermay to the Four Seasons.

Great Engagement – Hilary + Tom

I had to share this great engagement I shot last month with Hilary and Tom. It was a cool winter morning but they were real troopers! Hilary really wanted a picture with the Jefferson. The sun was in the worst possible position so we had to make it “artsy”. I think it works! After a few pix with the Jefferson we went across the street to the World War I Memorial. It’s a nice little hidden gem of a place near the new WWII memorial but it’s back in the trees.

Hilary and Tom are getting married in Rosemary Beach, Florida next November. Hopefully it will be a little warmer.

Launching New Blog!

Greg Gibson Photography is pleased to launch our new WebLog!

We have so many cool new things going on this year we just had to find a quick and easy way to share it all with everyone. We’ll be using the blog for news and announcements related to our business, as well as for posting images from recent shoots. We’ll also be promoting wedding vendors and venues that we like and enjoy.

Since it’s March already, we’re going to backpeddle a bit on a few of our first posts to try an get caught up on all the great things we’ve been doing since the first of the year. We’ve got a lot of work to do!
